Find a Top-Notch Ride
Performance features are always the highlight of sports cars, and that rule applies to the 8-Series as well near Pacific Palisades. To start, four engines are available. The standard is the turbocharged inline-six, which produces 335-horsepower. Already, the 8-Series features plenty of power. Yet, the next three engines provide even more power. The middle-of-the-pack twin-turbocharged V8 brings 523 horsepower, while the top two engines raise that to 612 and 617 horsepower. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission come standard in all models, except the 840i, which also offers rear-wheel drive.
In terms of the ride, the 8-Series feels quick and responsive. It gets from 0-60 mph within five seconds. And there is plenty of passing power, ready to let you get in front of that slower pickup truck on the highway. The ride is well-balanced, and the suspension can handle bumps and dips with composure. The brakes are also very responsive.
